About this notice
The purpose of this privacy notice is to explain how the Fair Work Commission (FWC) handles personal information collected through the Modern Award Pay Database Application Programming Interface (MAPD API)
The FWC will not use or disclose the personal information it collects through the MAPD API for any other purpose, except as required or authorised by law as permitted under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Why we collect your personal information
Registering to use the MAPD API
All users are required to register to use the MAPD API. As part of the registration process, you will be asked to provide your:
· name
· phone number
· organisation name (non-mandatory);
· ABN (non-mandatory)
· business email address (preferred option) or personal email address;
· consent to the MAPD API Terms of Use; and
· acknowledgement that you have read the Important Information statement.
The FWC collects the information provided through the registration portal, for the purposes of providing you with access to the MAPD API. If the FWC did not collect this information, it could not confirm that users have registered successfully. Users who have not registered will not be able to access the MAPD API.
It is the responsibility of the user to ensure that their personal information is accurate and up to date at all times. Users can update their personal information at any time by logging into the portal.
Providing feedback
Users have the option to provide feedback about the MAPD API, using the Contact Us form available the through portal. Feedback is optional.
If you choose to provide feedback, you will be asked to provide your:
· name; and
· email address
The FWC collects this information to help us respond to your enquiry and improve the MAPD API, including the type of data being provided and the method of delivery. If the FWC did not collect this information, it would not be able to contact you to discuss your feedback. Any feedback that you provide will remain confidential and you can contact the FWC to obtain a copy of your feedback.
Disclosure of your personal information
A third-party API support contractor has been engaged to provide support and maintenance for the MAPD API. Information collected through the MAPD API is stored within the Commission’s cloud-based infrastructure.
If you have trouble creating or accessing an account, Commission staff and the API support contractor staff may access your personal information provided through the MAPD API for the purpose of verifying your account.
Commission staff and the API support contractor staff may also need to access your personal information provided through the MAPD API for the purpose of system maintenance or in order to address technical malfunctions.
In such instances, Commission staff and the API support contractor staff will not disclose your information to any third party without your permission unless this is required or authorised by law. Your password will not be disclosed to Commission staff, Integral staff or third parties.
